As of 11th February 2020, there have been 42708 confirmed cases of corona virus as reported by World Health Organisation. If there is a pandemic in India, the nation will be dealing with a looming drug crisis. It is not just an epidemic, it is a viral holocaust.

The entire Hubei province in China which begun from its capital Wuhan, is dealing with a major outbreak of 21st century, the zoonotic 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCOV). The affected show the symptoms of an uncommon pneumonia and thereafter dies. As of 11th February 2020, there have been 42708 confirmed cases of corona virus as reported by World Health Organisation ( WHO) only in China and 395 more cases in rest of the world out of which 3 are from the state of Kerala in India.

However, these official numbers as being claimed by many organisations to be deflated and have less relevance to reality. According to a report published by Tencent Holdings, Corona Virus may have engulfed 24,589 and have 1,54,203 infected only in China. As per Dr. John Campbell,” Potentially 222K ( 2 lakh 20 thousand ) are infected (tested + untested) by the spread of this deadly virus”. Those who tend to call this an epidemic are only compressing the magnitude of the problem. This is not just an epidemic, it’s a viral holocaust.

A sting by New Tyang Dynasty TV team revealed that out of the dead cremated in china cemeteries and funeral homes, only 6 percent of the deaths are reported officially as confirmed cases. A mammoth 61 percent died at homes unreported and on roads while only 38 percent died in hospitals and were reported.

A live satellite imaging captured an astonishing increased number of SO2 emissions from China, especially in Wuhan. The only thing that can produce this amount of SO2 is the burning of organic matter or cremation of large number of dead bodies.

China is in an economic lockdown, no factories are operating, no markets are active, citizens are being locked in their own homes, the country’s social and economic growth has come to a standstill. Surprisingly, China being a purely communist nation ie. Having a one point of leadership and order has shown disability in able to deal with the spread of the virus. While China gasps for economic oxygen, the global investors and buyers are turning over to India to source ceramics, furniture, textiles, lifestyle accessories and technological goods. But does that imply India has nothing to worry about?

The problem is not just of China. India may have been saved due to its tropical climate but is not entirely a safe haven. Unless substantial public health measures are taken at personal and population levels the risk is as alarming for India. The timeline for a patient’s life affected due to this virus is very limited. A person if not admitted within a week of infection may just die. The epidemic doubled every 6.5 days in China.

The truth is, it appears as through detection of infections is a function of time and GDP per capita. It has been seen that countries that are better off are reporting many cases of the nCoV (USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia), whereas countries that aren't are reporting only a few/no cases (Mexico, Ethiopia, Ghana, Botswana, Thailand, India, Pakistan, etc.). The 80 percent of drug supplies in India are dependent on China. If there is a pandemic in India, the nation will be dealing with a looming drug crisis. As reported by Business standards, industry officials have met government representatives and sought relaxation in pollution norms for indigenous manufacturing of inhouse raw materials called APIs.

The reported cases are very few and Facebook posts of an Indian homeopath discovering the cure are not going to save the nation. It is high time the government takes up organisational steps to counter the gravity of the problem. The ground zero of the global viral holocaust is here. Cases are being reported from Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka and the governments there seem to be united in national hibernation to the problem. The ignorance will not save the country where hundreds of infants die due to malnutrition and Chamki bukhar. China has been taken; India is next. It is not just an epidemic, it is a viral holocaust.
