An official at Indian Railways has told Present Mirror that special care is being taken to follow guidelines of COVID-19. It will be mandatory for passengers to wear face masks and face covers, without that no passenger will be allowed inside. A proper screening will be done at all approved boarding and destination stations, only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board trains. All suspected cases will be immediately sent for COVID-19 testing and will not be allowed to travel. The Indian railways cannot risk lives of other passengers.
This will be the first attempt of Indian Railways to normalise the situation in the country, which had come to a standstill due to the pandemic. We hope that the hardworking railways officials are successful in their attempt and help those who are stranded and stuck away from their loved ones for the last one and a half months.
