The day is coming when the Indian populace will witness the sounds of rotors, thunder of engines as roaring Rafales, indigenous Tejas and the hawky Apache take the auxillary flight displaying the valour and pride of the fourth largest airforce in the world. The cutting age technologies and rapid modernisation will be a treat to the eyes on state of art platforms, at the same time blaring conch at the empty Chinese threats on the LAC, behold the occasion that is Indian Airforce day.
Referring to the upcoming 88th anniversary of the Indian Air Force, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria addressed the media during the Press Conference at the Subroto Park Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi.

Message of the Air Force Chief
As we enter our 89th year, i would like to complement all air warriors for a job well done in what has turned out to be an extremely challenging year. The iaf is in the midst of a transformation and we are changing the way we fight train and maintain our intents focus on integration both within the service and with our sister services, needs to continue modern weapon systems sensors and technology being inducted, needs to be operationalized rapidly. Given the budget constraints, we have to be innovative in our drive to enhance combat potential despite the effect of covet we need to maintain a high state of operational readiness at all times and be able to respond at short notice. On this occasion i would like to extend my warm greetings to all air warriors, civilians and their families and assure my countrymen of the indian air force's unflinching resolve to safeguard our sovereignty at any cost. The Apache is a twin-turbo shaft attack helicopter with a tandem cockpit for two crew & a tail wheel-type landing gear arrangement.
The Mi-17 V5 is a medium-lift helicopter, equipped with state-of-art navigational equipment & modern avionics, designed to be deployed for troops & arms transport, fire support and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions.
The Tejas is an indigenously developed, single-engine, fourth-generation, high-agility, multirole, supersonic light combat aircraft.
Gajraj is a four-engine, multi-purpose, turbofan strategic airlifter & military-transport aircraft.The aircraft can deliver heavy machinery to remote areas, carry tanks, artillery & is utilised for #HADR Operations.
The Rafale is a 4.5 generation, twin-engine omnirole, air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, in-depth strike, anti-ship and nuclear deterrence fighter aircraft, equipped with a wide range of weapons.
No 23 Sqn 'Panthers'
Panthers, comprising of Mig 21 Bisons, the upgraded version of Mig 21 that recently shot down a 4th gen F 16, was raised in the year 1956 and went on to become the first ‘Gnat’ squadron of IAF.
The Su-30MKI is a twinjet multirole air superiority, all-weather, long-range fighter aircraft.
C-130J “Super Hercules”
The C-130J is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. IAF has integrated this machine for Special Ops, HADR missions & air maintenance roles.
The C-17 is a high-wing, 4-engine, T-tailed military-transport aircraft, capable of carrying large equipment, supplies & troops both by day & night. Extended reach and swift response.
With these birds of the IAF, we are pretty sure that Indian populace is in for a treat on 8th of October. Embarking a momentous journey of 88 Years, the Indian Air Force is ever ready to INNOVATE, INTEGRATE & INTIMIDATE.
